Welcome to North Springs Charter High School . . . one of the oldest and smallest public high schools in Fulton County, with a long tradition of academic excellence and a history of attracting talented and diverse students and teachers, proud to be called Spartans!

North Springs is proud to be both a comprehensive high school and the only dual magnet high school in Georgia, with two specialized magnet programs in math/sciences and visual/ performing arts. We are part of Fulton County Schools, but operate under own charter. In fact, North Springs was the first Fulton public high school to become a charter school.

Our original five year charter continues through the 2011-12 school year. We are very excited however, about the revised charter renewal petition overwhelmingly passed by parents, faculty, and staff in May. This petition for renewal will be presented to Fulton County Board of Education in early September. If approved at the county level, the renewal petition will move to the state, and with approval there, our revised charter will be implemented during the 2012-2017 school years.

You can read both the original charter and a draft of the revised renewal petition on our web site. As we strive to offer the best education possible, we believe the revised charter petition even better meets our original goal of creating greater flexibility in instructional practices and additional learning opportunities so that all our students can succeed.

We’re proud too, that at North Springs, students feel a sense of acceptance and are encouraged to pursue their passions. We offer many interesting and challenging classes - from core courses to Advanced Placement classes - special programs, varsity sports and count-less clubs and activities.

High school should be a time of learning more about yourself, stretching your thinking skills, and providing a foundation for future success. As you explore further, you’ll find NSCHS has lots to offer. I invite you to take full advantage of the opportunities that await you and to become a proud Spartan too!

With all best wishes,

Dr. Lisa Stueve
